Alexa Park Las Vegas: A Neil Diamond Tribute

Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” Vegas residency show keeps going strong in the “Modern Showrooms Las Vegas” at Alexis Park Resort Hotel.

Music icon Neil Diamond is one of the best-selling and most iconic singer/songwriters in contemporary pop-rock music history.

More than just being one of the best-selling and most successful live artists ever, he’s also composed the soundtrack of our lives — including some of the most recognized songs on the planet.

In January 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond retired from touring after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

However, Diamond’s concert legacy continues to be preserved for audiences across the globe through Las Vegas entertainer Rob Garrett, widely regarded as the top Neil Diamond tribute artist.

Ask Alexa “who is America’s number one Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll hear the same name.

Like his legendary counterpart, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.

In the spring of 1974, his parents relocated from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, in 1976, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond Rob Garrett Neil Diamond Tribute Show Las Vegas casino showroom made his attendance-breaking Las Vegas debut at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.

Garrett went on to see him 16 more times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.

In 1980, Garrett started his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a long and successful run in Las Vegas and across the nation before making the move from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his childhood heroes.

In 1995, Garrett was hand-picked by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the “Legends in Concert” show in Honolulu, Hawaii.

What was meant to be a short engagement turned into a three-year success.

By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another two years before deciding to create his own tribute production.

He began a steady touring schedule, building a strong worldwide fan community along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Las Vegas.”

He continues to sell out theaters nationwide, often in venues fit for superstars.

Garrett has also won numerous awards, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”

“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.

On May 19th officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.

Now in this year, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.

It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.

Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only active Neil Diamond tribute production in America.

The Alexis Park Resort is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., about a quarter mile from Paradise Road.
